| Hey guys, this should be a good contest for those who wish to participate. This contest is for designing the next Penguin Generation room. The room may be featured in the first beta, but maybe not. However, the winner's room will be featured on Penguin Generation A.S.A.P.
Instructions: The room you make must be appropriate, attractive, and have the following attributes: normal CP room size, no logos or watermarks, it must have a resolution higher than 72 pixels. You must save a copy of your image as a .png file. Give us updates often by private messaging me a picture of your current progress. To make things even better and a better chance of winning for you, you can also upload (try MediaFire.com) your image by saving it as a file that has complete compatability with Photoshop or GIMP. Ergo, if that file is opened in Photoshop or GIMP, we can see all the layers and layer styles ect. This is so we can better correct mistakes and use your room. This is very important. You must also include the area of the map where the room is located.
The deadline is October 10th, 2010 which a month from now. Moderators may enter as well as everyone else, but those who are judging may not, so if you want to be a judge, please let me know. You may enter as many times as you want—with different rooms, of course.
Judging: 3 mods including myself will judge the room based on the following criteria...
- Idea. Is the room practical? Does it a have a good purpose? Max points: 15
- Design. Is it appealing to the eye as a whole? Does it look natural? Do the graphics look similar to CP graphics? Max points: 25
- Space. Is the room too cluttered or too open? Max points: 10
- Mistakes. Is the room flawless? Or does it have many flaws in it? Max points: 25
- Location. Does the room belong where it is? Is it in the way of other rooms? Max points: 5
- Background. Does the background behind the room portray neighboring rooms? Max points: 5
- Features*. Does the room include features (ex. Clock Tower, Soccer Ball, or a game)? Should it include features? Does it have too many/too little? Max points: 15
* Note that the room does not have to have any features. If the room shouldn't have any features (like a game, Clock Tower ect.) and it doesn't, you should receive 15 points.

| .PNGs don't support layers so how are you supposed to edit the separate layers? Do you want me to e-mail my .PSD to you?
Edit: Hold on, I didn't upload it with MediaFire sorry... I'm gonna try that first

| Hmm, tough one. I'll make one when I get to it. Does Photobucket work the same as MediaFire, though? | |

The point of Mediafire was not to upload your .png, but to upload a file that "understands layers". I don't know what to call it (help anyone?). For instance, in Photoshop, the "native document" to Photoshop is .psd. Powerpoint is .ppt. Get what I'm saying? Upload your .png to Photobucket or Tinypic ect.

Would "extension" be the word you're looking for? .PNGs don't support layers..

There we go. Thank you! And yes, .png files don't support layers. That's why I need both files (.png and the file with an extension that your program uses that supports layers).

| Ah, sorry. I won't be able to put it into layers. I'll be making two entries, though. | |
